About Anthony Reginald Jones
My name is Anthony Reginald Jones, II, and I am the Managing Litigation Attorney at Durham Law Group PC. I joined the team in March 2022 to head the Litigation Department. I am passionate about trial advocacy.
I have wanted to be a lawyer since I was seven years old. As a kid, I remember being in awe of courtroom scenes in movies. The actors in those scenes always sounded like the smartest people in the world to me. I knew I wanted to be just like them. Some people find it strange that a seven-year-old can set the trajectory of his life, but in a way, that’s exactly what I did. The only thing I was more certain about than becoming a lawyer was that I was going to go to school at Morehouse College. My late grandmother would tell me about all the great men that were educated at Morehouse, and I had to be a part of it. I entered Morehouse in the Fall of 2003 as a Political Science/Pre-Law major.
Morehouse introduced me to people and a world that I had never known. I had friends from other countries. I had world-renowned professors, and I got to walk the halls that Martin Luther King, Jr. and Maynard Jackson once walked. It was the lively classroom discussions at Morehouse that cemented for me that I wanted to not only be a lawyer but that I wanted to be a trial lawyer.
I entered Western Michigan University’s Thomas Cooley Law School in the Fall of 2009 and quickly joined organizations to help cultivate my trial advocacy skills, such as Moot Court. As I approached my last semester of law school, my main objective was to return to Atlanta. Although Atlanta is not where I grew up, during my time at Morehouse, Atlanta had become my home, and I couldn’t wait to return. I was approved to do my final semester of law school as an externship with the Legal Affairs Department at Grady Hospital in downtown Atlanta. Following law school graduation in May 2012, I worked as an Associate for a downtown firm, gaining experience in complex and mass tort litigation matters.
In 2014, I realized my dream of becoming a trial lawyer when I was offered an Associate Attorney position at a small metro Atlanta personal injury firm. After eight years with that firm, I accepted the Managing Litigation Attorney position at Durham Law Group PC in March 2022. At Durham Law Group, I specialize in a wide range of personal injury cases – including wrongful death claims, car wrecks, dog bites, and premises liability claims. I get up every morning knowing that I am fighting for the good guys. Oftentimes as a personal injury attorney, you are introduced to people during the worst moments of their lives, and they are asking you to be their voice. I understand the weight of that request, and I always do my job with that in mind. It really has been my life’s calling.
