With 29 years of legal experience, Ron is an accomplished trial attorney who has tried hundreds of jury trials in both State and Federal Court. Ron started his career after law school where he was accepted into the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in September 1987. Ron chose instead to begin his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Northern Illinois from 1987 to 1989. In 1989, Ron accepted a position as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana and served in that position with the U.S. Department of Justice until January 1995 when he left to become the General Counsel/Deputy Commissioner for the Arena Football League.

As General Counsel, Ron traveled the country handling all aspects of the league’s legal matters and litigation. In 2002, Ron left the AFL and moved to Tampa, Florida where he started his own defense firm which specialized in Nursing Home defense. In August 2004, Ron left the practice to focus solely on his passion of State and Federal Criminal Defense.
Since 2004, Ron has focused his attention on developing and building his criminal practice. He has successfully tried hundreds of cases including complex drug conspiracies, complex Fraud, RICO, RICO Conspiracy, First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, Manslaughter, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and Battery, DUI, Theft, etc. Ron’s attention to detail and his obsession for “finding a way” and “telling the client’s story” has caused him to have a tremendous amount of success in trial. Ron tries well over 20 jury trials a year. When clients demand to fight and go to trial, Ron is the attorney they seek out to try the case.
Originally from Chicago, IL, Ron is currently licensed to practice law in the States of Illinois, Georgia and Florida. Ron is a member of multiple United States District Courts including the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Ron is a member of the CJA panel for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Ron graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1983 and received his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1987. Ron has been a practicing attorney since 1987.
Ron also served as an adjunct professor of law teaching trial advocacy and coaching the trial teams at Valparaiso University School of Law from 1990 to 1995. Ron is very active in volunteer work around the Tampa area with work for Metropolitan Ministries, Ronald McDonald House, Meals and Wheels and I-Matter Too.
