Timothy C. Moynahan is the CEO and owner of Moynahan Partners, which offers business development consultancy, identifying strategic business partnerships and funding sources. He founded and heads the Moynahan Law Firm, Waterbury, Connecticut. He is a sought-after and successful trial lawyer, earning the Super Lawyer of New England and Connecticut awards from 2009 to 2012 and Best Criminal Defense Attorney accolade in 2013.
Mr. Moynahan seeks to improve communities through social, health, and education works. He is a founder and current Chairman of the Global Virus Network (GVN), which identifies, investigates and controls viral threats to humankind. He is also a member of the Advisory Board and Executive Committee of the Institute of Human Virology. Mr. Moynahan was also appointed Chairman of I’m A Friend, a not-for-profit organization based in Ireland, intended to help prevent bullying and reduce its harmful consequences. He is a member of the Kansas Department of Commerce Business Advisory Group which offers mutually beneficial business opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs.
He focuses on integrating relevant business and law requirements into academia as a member of the Post University MBA Advisory Council. He assists at-risk youths and families as Attorney Emeritus for the Let’s Think Kids Foundation. As Board member of the International Council for Middle East Studies (Washington D.C.), he held civil rights presentations for the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC). On behalf of the United States Information Services (USIS), he shared democracy ideology with universities in Pakistan. He was a member of the Dean’s Council, School of Law, Quinnipiac University, and was a discussant on global business practice in Cyprus for the Southern Connecticut State University.
Prior to this, Mr. Moynahan founded and chaired The Palace Theatre group to preserve the cultural icon in Waterbury. His community work included an advisory post on the Mayor of Waterbury’s Commission, as well as Board memberships of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce and the Connecticut Special Olympics. He participated in the Chief Justice’s Supreme Court Committee on Criminal Justice to ensure the integrity of the criminal justice system and was a Board member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Moynahan has served as an advisor for the NBA Retired Players Association as Board member for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and chaired events for the Ataxia Telangiectasia Foundation, and the Order of the Sons of Italy.
He holds a law degree (Juris Doctor) from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington D.C. and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Providence College, R.I.
